General
BetaClimate designs, engineers, and deploys outdoor air purification systems — VAAN, a fixed standalone unit, and AntiPollution, a truck-mounted mobile fleet — to reduce Air Quality Index (AQI) levels in open, public spaces rather than indoors.
Most consumer purifiers only treat indoor air, but people spend significant time outdoors in streets, parks, construction zones, and public spaces. According to the World Air Quality Report 2023 and State of Global Air 2024, Per the IQAir World Air Quality Report 2023, 83 of the world's 100 most polluted cities are in India, with outdoor PM2.5 levels routinely more than 10x above the WHO's annual safe guideline — a gap no indoor solution can close.
Municipal corporations, real estate developers, corporate campuses, construction and infrastructure firms, event organisers, hospitals, educational institutions, and any organisation with outdoor spaces where AQI is a concern for occupants, residents, or ESG reporting.
Trees and green infrastructure help over years and at low density. BetaClimate's VAAN unit is engineered to process roughly 1.24 crore cubic feet of air per day at 9,000 CFM — a scale and speed of purification not achievable with vegetation alone. VAAN is explicitly designed to pair the calm of natural air purification ('Vana', forest) with the speed and precision of engineering ('Baan', arrow).
VAAN — The Mechanical Tree
VAAN is BetaClimate's flagship standalone air purification unit — a fixed installation nicknamed 'The Mechanical Tree', built for parks, plazas, societies, and streets where a permanent civic air-quality solution is needed.
Air passes through five stages: a self-washing coarse pre-filter, a PM10 filter, a PM5 filter, a precision PM2.5 filter, and a final scrubber-plus-UV stage using 400 water jets and ozone-free UV sterilisation, before clean air is released via a vortex airflow mixed with fine water mist.
In independent testing verified by NITTTR Chandigarh (a Government of India, Ministry of Education institute), AQI dropped from 352 (Hazardous) to 106 (Moderate) within 5 minutes at the test site — a roughly 70% reduction. Typical AQI reduction within a 20-metre radius is 60–70%, though results vary by site conditions and ambient weather, as noted in our Terms of Service.
Third-party validated results show 65% PM10 removal, 62% PM2.5 removal, and 60% PM1 removal efficiency.
Each unit is rated at 9,000 CFM airflow capacity, cleaning approximately 1.24 crore cubic feet of air daily, covering roughly 3 acres, up to an effective purification height of 30 metres, and can run up to 23 hours a day.
Yes. VAAN's performance has been verified by NITTTR Chandigarh, a Government of India institute, and BetaClimate holds ISO 9001:2015 quality management certification. Patents on our carbon capture and filtration technology are applied for.
VAAN is designed to be solar-hybrid ready, supporting renewable power to reduce the operational carbon footprint of each installation.
AntiPollution — Mobile Fleet
AntiPollution is BetaClimate's mobile, truck-mounted deployment platform — the same core VAAN filtration engine engineered onto a transportable chassis, so clean air can reach pollution spikes wherever and whenever they occur, rather than only where a fixed unit is installed.
AntiPollution units are designed to be deployable within hours, not months, making them suited to construction sites, events, and sudden seasonal pollution spikes such as stubble-burning season or winter inversion events.
Each tier is additive. AntiPollution 3 carries the base stack — pre-filter, wet swirl scrubbing, and particulate filtration — suited to traffic and street-level hotspots. AntiPollution 5 adds activated carbon adsorption and UV sterilisation for construction and event sites. AntiPollution 8 adds an algae CO2-absorption chamber plus ionisation and ozone-to-oxygen conversion, built for major industrial pollution hotspots.
Yes. AntiPollution units can be leased, which is designed to also improve a client's ESG score by contributing certified, third-party-verified emissions and air-quality outcomes to their sustainability reporting.
AntiPollution shares the same certified core filtration stack and vortex-plus-mist technology as VAAN. Fixed VAAN installations provide consistent, ongoing coverage for a location that is regularly polluted, while AntiPollution provides variable, rapid-response coverage wherever pollution spikes first — together offering full coverage across a city.
Technology & VAAN OS
VAAN OS is the operating and intelligence layer connecting every deployed unit — turning live sensor and weather data into dispatch decisions, dashboards, and verified performance records for reporting.
VAAN AI follows a four-step loop: Sense (onboard and ambient sensors stream real-time AQI, PM levels, and wind data), Predict (models forecast pollution build-up and flag zones about to spike), Adjust (airflow, filtration stage, and jet intensity are tuned automatically per unit, per hour), and Report (a fleet-wide dashboard logs verified before/after AQI data for ESG and reporting use).
The dashboard displays real-time AQI and other performance metrics, environment configuration controls, an AQI-versus-time graph comparing breathing-height air quality to the surrounding area, and a 3D spatial visualisation of the purifier tower layout for each site.
Yes. BetaClimate's simulator lets partners place proposed units on a real location, visualise coverage, and measure projected before/after AQI impact prior to installation, helping plan the most effective unit placement.
ESG, Reporting & Partnerships
Every deployment produces documented, third-party-verified environmental outcomes. Certified PM2.5/PM10 reduction data feeds directly into environmental disclosures and rating-agency scorecards, and NITTTR-verified, ISO 9001:2015-managed data is ready to cite in sustainability and annual reports.
Verified air-quality outcomes from BetaClimate deployments can support participation in emerging air-pollution and carbon-offset credit frameworks. Interested organisations can find more detail via our Carbon Credits section or by contacting our team directly.
Yes. Deployments are designed to map cleanly to CSR spend allocations, RERA green building norms, and municipal air-action plan requirements, giving compliance and sustainability teams reportable outcomes tied to a specific, physical intervention.
Independent verification comes from NITTTR Chandigarh's Performance and Physical Verification Report, alongside citywide pollution context drawn from the IQAir World Air Quality Report 2023 and State of Global Air 2024 — both referenced throughout our site and pitch materials. We're happy to share the full verification report and site-specific case data on request via our Contact page.
